About

A place where I can write irrelevant anecdotes that make me sound like a pretentious git.

It’s like all my Christmas’s have come at once. This weeks Timeoff Magazine featured a review of an album by the name of “Curses” by a band called “Future of the Left”. Never heard of this band, but I had heard of the band two of the members used to be in ….rejoice! mclusky have returned, albeit with a different name and a different bassist (former mclusky bassist now apparently resides in Australia somewhere and plays in a new band called “Shooting at Unarmed Men”).

I managed to get a listen of the album, and for all intents and purposes the sound is very mclusky reminiscent – possibly even superior. Songs like “Plague of Onces”, “My Gymnastic Past”; and “Team:Seed” immediately stand out, and they’ve even managed to squeeze a bit of synth in (a Roland Juno 60 I believe).

It is released really soon. I recommend you purchase this, and relive the mclusky dream!
