Well, it seems like 11 years of suffocating conservatism is finally at an end. And thank Allah for that. A few collegues of mine commented that this is the first change of government since many of us 20-something came into voting age. And what a relief it will be - finally we can move forward in thinking about the real issues that affact our society and culture rather than concentrate purely on a econo-centric point of view that has seemed to distract the government for the past 11 years. It will be interesting to see the first few weeks of a new government to see how many promises will be kept and broken.
It seems Peter Costello will not become liberal leader. He must be raging that he didn’t grab the reins of power earlier. If I had to nominate anyone for the position of leader of the liberal party, it would be Malcom Turnbull. He seems the most sensible out of that bunch of clowns.
