Well, Glen Hansard of Irish band The Frames has been nominated (along with Marketa Irglova) for an academy award in the category of ‘Best Song’ for “Falling Slowly” from the film Once.
Not my favourite Hansard tune to be honest, but it will be great if he won it as it will mean that I have once shared a beer with an Oscar winner! (I managed to hang with The Frames one night last year after the opening of “Once”, and the day before they played with Bob Dylan in Brisbane, Australia).
I’m officially super cool.
