Witch Hats; LoFly; Re:enactment.
I’ve been listening to a review copy of Witch Hat’s second record Pleasure Syndrome all week. It’s an astoundedly good record, one that could be one of the defining Australian releases of this decade. My review is probably going to appear in Rave Magazine next week, so I’ll post it here when it’s out. In the meantime, check out the video for “Hear Martin” below.

I also dropped by The Zoo last night to catch Nova Scotia, Mr. Maps and Re:enactment at the LoFly record label showcase (sorry Restream, I got there too late for you!). All the bands were great. This was my first time (and potentially last time) seeing Nova Scotia. Apparently they’re going on an extended hiatus due to band members going overseas.
It was also my first time seeing Re:enactment. This was an intense experience, but a welcome one. Have a listen to ‘Higher Duties’ below from their 2011 debut Sport.
